Code-Nose: Teaching Jev to Sniff, Not Judge
September 20, 2026
Built a code review system on Jev's independent yes/no primitive instead of its decision-making one — it only ever flags "something's off here," never a verdict. Shipped end to end: real live scoring, a minted baseline, a CI gate that never blocks a PR.

Abolish Lawns: A Coming-Out Project
April 28, 2026
Built and launched abolish-lawns: a manifesto, factsheet, bibliography, three print-and-distribute zines, and a deployment pipeline via git submodule + GitHub Actions. The most controversial thing I've made, apparently — and I'm an anarchist.
-
Down the Optical Computing Rabbit Hole
April 12–17, 2026
A detour into photonic inference architectures and holographic optics. Not every session produces a shipped product — some produce a much better understanding of why something is hard.
-
Cooperative Compute for Norfolk
April 10, 2026
Designed a lease-to-own edge compute cooperative for local businesses — 4-GPU pods, 75/25 revenue split, operator equity via board seats. The commons framework applied to GPU infrastructure.
-
Astro Persona: One Deployment, No Ambiguity
April 7–8, 2026
Collapsed Cloudflare Pages and Worker into a single Worker deployment, wired up Stripe, built the landing page with a p5.js celestial animation, and shipped an internal hydration tool with Synthesize and Charts tabs.
-
Nine Pieces in One Session
April 6, 2026
Planned and wrote the full Series VI — "Enclosure of the Mind" — in a single long session. Reich through Hardt & Negri, tracing how the enclosure of physical resources was followed by the enclosure of attention, desire, and language.

SSR Prerendering a React SPA for Static Hosting
April 5, 2026
Built a full SSR prerender pipeline for an 83-route React/Vite app deployed to Cloudflare Pages. The core problem:
lazy()andrenderToStringdon't mix. The solution is a separate eager-import server entry. -
Writing for AI Readers and Designing a Decentralized Marketplace
April 3, 2026
Two launches: a knowledge module written specifically for AI reasoning systems, and Holdfast — a neutral evidentiary clearinghouse for decentralized commerce on AT Protocol.
-
Hydrating 2,268 Prompt Slots with Haiku
April 1, 2026
Built the internal hydration tool for Astro Persona — a five-tab dashboard for batch-generating astrological prompt content via Claude Haiku with real-time cost tracking and prompt cache awareness.
-
A Civic Accountability Dashboard for Norfolk's Green Plan
March 29, 2026
Built a public dashboard tracking the city's compliance with its 2018 Green Infrastructure Plan. Finding: the city is running a 9.9:1 tree removal-to-planting ratio against a mandate requiring 5,200 plantings per year.
-
Astro Persona: Astrological Natal Chart Personas as an MCP Service
March 27, 2026
Designed and built the full Astro Persona system — natal chart + live transit aspects assembled into a persona JSON delivered via MCP at session start. Aspects as combinators, not lookup tables.
-
D3 for Argument, Not Decoration
March 25, 2026
Moved from Canva to hand-coded SVG to D3 for building infographics. The principle that stuck: the diagram has to enact the argument, not illustrate it. Arrow weight equals flow volume — that IS the claim.
-
Friendly Feed: Plain Language to Custom Bluesky Feeds
March 21, 2026
Designed Friendly Feed after a call-out on Bluesky. Stack: Tap → Filter Engine → D1 → Cloudflare Worker. Currently on hold after Attie launched with overlapping creation UX — waiting to see if their refinement loop compounds or just re-prompts.

Scout-Two Submits a Pull Request
March 19, 2026
Scout-Two reviewed power-explained, proposed contributing, and submitted PR #1 — two pieces on Simondon and on AI agents as commons infrastructure. Reviewed the diff and posted seven issues for Scout to address.
-
Series V: Seven Pieces in One Session
March 18, 2026
Planned and wrote the full Series V — "Where We Go From Here" — in a single session. Seven pieces covering the commons in money, land, care, and language. One of them makes the argument that natural language itself is the commons that LLMs are currently enclosing.
-
Launch Day: jason-edelman.org, Shannon, and Gödel
March 17, 2026
Three things in one day: launched this site, wrote a piece on Shannon's information theory and the commons, and extended the Gödel thinker page to connect his incompleteness theorems to D&G's lines of flight.
-
Two Agents, One GitHub Repo
March 15, 2026
Dropped Google Drive as the handoff layer between Claude and Gemini. GitHub is now the sync surface — Gemini writes findings to
research/findings/, Claude pulls, reviews, and promotes to the blog. Simpler and auditable. -
Three Launches: Mithlond, Ghent Streets, Tools Pages
March 12, 2026
Built and launched three projects in a day — a commons-framework research site for Hampton Roads data center infrastructure, a zoning reform campaign for our neighborhood, and three practitioner tool pages on power-explained.
-
Removing 11,500 Lines of Duplicated CSS
March 11, 2026
Found ~200 hardcoded color values across 46 HTML files that broke dark mode, extracted all shared styles into a single CSS file, and introduced channel variables for opacity-based theming. Net change: −11,500 lines.
-
Building Scout-Two: A Bluesky Agent on GitHub Actions
March 9, 2026
Built the full agent loop for Scout-Two — a Bluesky agent with a feed pull, a think step (Letta), and an act step that posts, replies, likes, and reposts. Out-of-band requests committed to the repo as Markdown.
-
commons-wire: Score Automatically, Write Deliberately
March 7, 2026
Built an automated news pipeline that scores articles against a commons/capture framework daily and commits candidates to GitHub. The key design decision: score by cron, write manually. Keeps editorial judgment in the loop.
-
Day One: Memory, Philosophy, and a Site
March 6, 2026
The first session. Built a GitHub-backed persistent memory system for Claude, completed a forward-and-reverse pass through seven political philosophers, and launched power-explained as a static site — seven pieces on power, commons, and alternatives.
